Remember the cost: helping the children of heroes
In response to the President of Ukraine's call for help to veterans, the company "Ukrainian Helicopters" has taken financial responsibility for 14 children from Kyiv region—full orphans of the Heroes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Together with the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and local communities of Kyiv region, the newly established "Center for Supporting Combatants and Families of Fallen Heroes," a subdivision of "Ukrainian Helicopters," has launched a large-scale social project to support orphaned children of fallen defenders, taking under its patronage 14 full orphans. The Center's staff will address the needs of these children on a monthly basis.
Today, at the "Shining Book" bookstore, the staff of the center presented gifts worth over 40,000 UAH per child. Each child personally chose the necessary items according to their preferences—tablets, computers, desks, headphones, clothing, shoes, and school supplies.
The event took place in a friendly atmosphere, with children interacting, selecting books which were later purchased for them, and enjoying treats. Afterward, together with their companions, they visited the State Aviation Museum of Ukraine named after O.K. Antonov and the Museum of the History of the National Aviation University, where, on the occasion of the State Flag Day of Ukraine, they unfolded the Ukrainian flag as a symbol of resistance and resilience.
"We must remember the price at which the Ukrainian Armed Forces manage to keep the peaceful sky above our homes. Supporting the children of fallen Heroes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be an obligation for responsible businesses," commented the head of the "Center for Supporting Combatants and Families of Fallen Heroes," a subdivision of "Ukrainian Helicopters," Yevhenii Tymoshenko.
"The Kyiv Regional State Administration supports socially responsible businesses that assist the children of fallen soldiers and orphaned children who require special attention. Many children now, in addition to humanitarian and material support, also need moral and psychological assistance, especially those who are coping with the trauma of loss. It is very important that, alongside government programs, private companies provide help to Ukrainian children who have lost their closest loved ones—those who defended Ukraine," said Yaroslava Trostianska, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, "Ukrainian Helicopters" has donated over 145 million UAH to support the Ukrainian army. The company also cares for the families of fallen employees and has already paid one-time financial aid to each family, totaling 42.9 million UAH. In addition, each minor child receives monthly assistance of 100,000 UAH until they turn 18. Recently established, the "Center for Supporting Combatants and Families of Fallen Heroes" from "Ukrainian Helicopters" has already provided assistance in urgent medical intervention, rehabilitation, and recovery for 9 veterans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces within just one month of operation.
