Since 2015, PJSC AC Ukrainian helicopters has successfully conducted search and rescue operations in many countries worldwide. Over the years, our crews have saved numerous victims in various operations from Europe to Africa. Given the high risk of such operations, it is crucial to maintain the necessary levels of safety and quality. Continuous improvement of rescue techniques, installation of the latest equipment, and ongoing crew training at the company’s own training center ensure maximum safety for the operation and the victims.

Capabilities

Rescue teams are able to conduct victim search and rescue operations 24/7, regardless of natural conditions.

1

Rescue from water, land, any terrain, in all weather conditions

2

Landing on unprepared and unlit sites, including those selected from the air and under dust storm conditions

3

Evacuation in hover mode with a hoist

4

Provision of medical/emergency care on board

A set of night vision systems

Optoelectronic surveillance system

The optoelectronic surveillance system is designed to perform patrolling, monitoring, reconnaissance and surveillance tasks around the clock (24/7). The system allows for detection, identification, quantitative and qualitative assessment of objects and target range with the ability to record and store data in the infrared spectrum during the day and night.

Night vision goggles

Night vision goggles are designed to view the space outside the helicopter cockpit at night. They allow for safe takeoffs, piloting at low altitudes, searching and detecting objects, and landing on unequipped and unlit sites. The goggles enhance natural night lighting, allowing the pilot to navigate and operate almost as if it were daytime.

Controlled dual-mode searchlight

The searchlight operates in both visible and infrared ranges, providing a range of up to 1 km in normal mode and up to 1.8 km in infrared mode.

Adapted cockpit

Enables operations with the use of night vision goggles, and the adaptation ensures minimal glare from the instrument panel.

Additional equipment

Rescue Equipment

For evacuating victims with varying degrees of injury from any surface (land, water, mountains, etc.).

Rescue winch

A rescue winch system with a high load capacity, equipped with a trigger mechanism, is designed to provide landing and evacuation. The system provides hovering evacuation operations at a height of up to 80 meters, with precise motion control and stable operation even in difficult conditions.

Rescue from land, water, flooded buildings, and trees caught in a flood—this is possible both day and night. Helicopter landings are possible on unprepared sites, including under dust storm conditions. When this is not feasible, the evacuation of victims occurs in a hovering mode using a hoist. Those in need of medical assistance, whether due to hypothermia from prolonged exposure in water, injuries, or other reasons, receive emergency care directly on board the helicopter from qualified aeromedical evacuation teams that are part of the crews.
